Meet the Naturally Prepared 4 Birth Team!
Samanda Rossi is a trained doula and childbirth educator. She started Naturally Prepared in 2011, combining her background and love of teaching with her other passion: families and birth!
For over a dozen years, she has served the homebirth community in a variety of ways as an Area Coordinator and President of Friends of Missouri Midwives to midwifery apprentice!
She has two sons, both born at home with the assistance of a midwife. She has trained with DONA (Doulas of North America), CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association), and Birthing From Within. She is a member of the Missouri Midwives Association, CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association), Friends of Missouri Midwives, Doulas of Greater St. Louis, and The Alliance for Childbirth Educators. She has attended over 85 births and served over 150 families preparing for birth.
In addition, she has attended numerous conferences (ICAN, Midwives Alliance of North America, CAPPA, and Missouri Midwives Association), and completed trainings with Gail Tully of Spinning Babies (twice!), Gena Kirby on use of the Rebozo (twice!), Joe Valley from Empowered Papa (she’s “Dad Certified”), and Barbara Harper’s Waterbirth Certification workshop. Obviously, she LOVES to learn!
In addition to birth, babies, and breastfeeding, she enjoys baking, cooking, exercise, being outdoors, and her chickens!
Halley Kim, RN, CLC is so excited to be a part of Naturally Prepared!
For the last 2 and 1/2 years, she has worked for Family Care Health Centers as an OB Nurse Educator, where she worked with underserved pregnant women. Halley has been a midwifery activist since 2007 and has volunteered as a lobbyist at the State Capitol intermittently since 2008.
She is the State Treasurer and a Board Member for Friends of Missouri Midwives and is a member of the Missouri Midwives Association. Halley is trained as a Certified Lactation Counselor and has also completed a doula training workshop. She has attended 20 births in varying capacities, and is now starting a full-time midwifery apprenticeship and doula practice.
